Debret and Brazil - 11 - Indians Cavalary

My favourites images from the first tome of Debret´s book, are:

Botocudos family and their flamboyant “clothes”. I love it, maybe I have Botocudo’s blood… Who knows…

These warriors from Guaicuru Cavalary are great.

And this gracious master of Archery and Hunting

Mayor of Sao Paulo promess to finish the polluted air

First, Mr. Kassab, Mayor of Sao Paulo City, prohibited the billboards, now is the polluted air. This is a bit arbitrary, is it not? I am very afraid about one thing: could we have permission to fart at open air? See the this post, “an almost class” about this subject by Rico Ferrari.

Jacare Banguela

Jacare Banguela's logo

Jacare Banguela (.br) means literally the “Toothless Alligator”. It’s the most successful humor blog in Brazil and a powerful source of Internet memes. The most successful meme, indeed, is the one which spreads Jacare’s trademark: Any sign that mimes an alligator spread mouth (made with hands, legs, etc) eating something. Another successful meme is the “Drunken of the Week Award”, also featured above. I’ve collected some of the most creative from Brazilians all over the world to you:

Climate change? Let’s blame the cows!

This is a painkiller medicine TV ad. An aproximate transcript:

“Climate change is a major headache.”
“Cow farts = Methane”.
“Methane pollutes 20 times more than Carbon Dioxide”.
“A single cow produces 250 grams (8.8 Ounces) of methane a day”.
“1.4 billion cows in the entire planet produce 350 thousand tons of methane”.
“And 350 thousand tons of methane are the equivalent to the pollution produced by 50 million cars”.
“So 16% of the greenhouse gases on the atmosphere are made by farting cows (The End)”.

And the marketeers in Altana Pharma outsourced their own jobs: “If you have a good ad idea about headache, film it and we’ll pay you for it. www.curtasneosaldina.com.br”.
