Debret and Brazil -1 - Voyage Pitoresque et Historique au Brésil
Jean-Baptiste Debret was a French painter who stayed in Brazil from 1816 to 1831. He did a lot of draws about the country. Later, in Paris, he published a book (three tomes) with these material, called Voyage Pitoresque et Historique au Brésil.
This it will be the first post about Debret and Brazil. There will be approximately forty (40) posts about Debret pictures of Brazil, published until August. All images are from the the bibivirt (Student Virtual Library of Sao Paulo University).
